(en) Nuno Cruz Garcia is an Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Informatics of Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He obtained a PhD in Computer Vision, Recognition, and Machine Learning from Università di Genova and Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, advised by Vittorio Murino and Pietro Morerio. He was a visiting researcher at Boston University, USA, and he also worked as a data engineer at Miniclip and Deloitte. His main research interests focus on deep learning and computer vision applications. As a member of LASIGE, he is the Principal Investigator of the project “DL-CADET - Deep Learning for Breast Cancer Detection”, funded by FCT. He is a member of the Management Committee of Cost Action “CA19134 - Distributed Knowledge Graphs”. He participates in several other projects related to machine learning and computer vision in a wide range of domains, from biomedical to aerial imaging.

(pt) Nuno Cruz Garcia é Professor Auxiliar no Departamento de Informática da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Obteve o Doutoramento em Visão Computacional e Aprendizagem Automática pela Universidade de Génova, Itália, e pelo Instituto Italiano de Tecnologia, orientado por Vittorio Murino e Pietro Morerio. Foi investigador visitante na Boston University, EUA, professor na Universidade Lusófona em Lisboa, e engenheiro de dados na Miniclip e Deloitte. Atualmente, é membro integrado do LASIGE e Investigador Principal do projeto “DL-CADET - Deep Learning for Breast Cancer Detection”, financiado pela FCT. É membro da acção COST Distributed Knowledge Graphs. Participa como investigador em vários projetos na área de aprendizagem automática e visão computacional, com aplicação a diversos domínios, da biomédica à imagem aérea.
