(en) Nuno Cruz Garcia is an Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. He coordinates the Deep Learning graduate course. He is a researcher at LASIGE, where he works together with his research group (Lisbon Vision and Learning Lab LxViL) on computer vision and multimodal deep learning, applied to biomedical imaging, human robot interaction, and multimodal learning. He leads the computer vision work package in the Horizon Europe project HARIA-FT and contributes to national projects including PAIR-LUNG (histopathological image analysis), THOR (ultrasound imaging), and ATTRACT-EDIH (AI and HPC innovation hub). He was PI of the FCT project DL-Cadet (breast cancer multimodal deep learning ) and part of the Management Committee of COST Action Distributed Knowledge Graphs. He contributed to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 on trustworthy AI. He has supervised over 20 MSc theses and currently advises 6 PhD students. He was a visiting researcher at Boston University and holds a PhD in Computational Vision from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and Università di Genova. Before that, he was a data engineer at Deloitte and Miniclip.

(pt) Nuno Cruz Garcia é Professor Auxiliar no Departamento de Informática da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Coordena a unidade curricular de mestrado de Deep Learning. É investigador no LASIGE, onde juntamente com o seu grupo de investigação (Lisbon Vision and Learning Lab LxViL) trabalha em visão por computador e aprendizagem profunda, com aplicações em imagem biomédica, interação humano-robô e aprendizagem multimodal. Coordena o pacote de trabalho de visão por computador no projeto Horizon Europe HARIA-FT e colabora em projetos nacionais como o PAIR-LUNG (análise de imagens histopatológicas), THOR (imagem por ultrassons) e ATTRACT-EDIH (hub de inovação em IA e HPC).
Foi investigador principal do projeto DL-Cadet da FCT (aprendizagem profunda multimodal para cancro da mama) e integrou o comité de gestão da Ação COST Distributed Knowledge Graphs. Contribuiu para o grupo ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 sobre IA confiável. Supervisionou mais de 20 dissertações de mestrado e orienta atualmente 6 estudantes de doutoramento.
Foi investigador visitante na Boston University e é doutorado em Visão Computacional pelo Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia e pela Università di Genova. Anteriormente, foi engenheiro de dados na Deloitte e na Miniclip.
